I thought I would share with you my skin care tips.
In the past I neglected my skin and it is only in the last few years that I feel my skin is at its best.
I feel that diet and keeping yourself healthy plays a huge part in how your skin is.
Diet
Since I have cut out all the crap (to put it bluntly) I have noticed how much better my skin looks and feels. Now i'm not telling everyone to do this, as it is not for everyone, but I myself have cut out dairy from my diet, i have also cut out fried and roasted foods. No more takeaways for me!
The key is if you do not want to cut out these foods together then you just need to have smaller amounts of these tyoes of foods.
After all 'You are what you eat.'
Im not a skincare expert in any way, but though years of experience and trial and error, i now know what works for me in order to keep my skin at its best.
Another thing in which i found works well for keeping my skin healthy are herbal teas. This ca also include fruit teas. After drinking these for a little while i noticed how beneficial they are for the skin as frrom drinking these my eczema on my arms and legs just went! I knew it was the herbal teas that did because i left drinking them off for about a week and my eczema came back!
It might be hard to believe as i though nothing would get rid of it on my skin after years of having it, but it's the truth, it really worked!
Antioxidant-rich foods can also have a major positive effect on your skin's health and appearance.
Eating fish can help help skin, I also have one cod liver oil capsule every night before bed. I have noticed a real difference since taking the cod liver oil, and my hair is a lot healthier too.
Apples, Avocados, Bananas, Blackberries and Blueberries are great for the skin.
Health
Keeping yourself healthy also plays a key part in keeping your skin looking good.
Since i have started going to the gym i have noticed how much fresher my skin looks and it also has a glow to it afterwards. When you increase the blood flow, exercise helps to nourish the skin cells and keep them vital. The blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the working cells throughout the body, including the skin.
After i go swimming i like to go in the steam room and sauna. The steam room is great for your skin.
The Steam Room
'Among the many steam room benefits is detoxification. A steam session capitalizes on the body’s ability to sweat toxins away. With the average body containing more than 2.5 million sweat glands, the cumulative effect of sweating is a 30% reduction in the toxins that have built up inside the body. It is an effortless and practical way to detox, and with a greater degree of effectiveness.'
The Sauna
'The heat of the sauna relaxes the body, improves circulation and stimulates
the release of endorphins—the body’s natural feel good chemical—providing a
wonderful after sauna glow.
When deep sweating occurs, the skin is cleansed and dead skin cells are
replaced, keeping your skin in good working condition.'
I always feel really relaxed after going in both of these.
Skin Care Products
I do love my skin Care products and I love to try new products, but i feel while these do help to keep your skin looking nice and helps from breakouts, i feel the real results for me have come from diet and keping my healthy. For facial skin care products i love The Body Shop, Sanctuary and vitamin E products from Boots. I think for your skin to be at it's best you need to combine diet and health as well as your skin care products. For my body i love to use natural body washes such as Original Source, i love their products. I dont like to use anything that is going to be harsh as my skin wont thank me for it!
A lot of products today have different harsh ingredients in and this really is not good for your skin.
I also really love the Simple range as they have some great products. I love their facial toner.
I love the products in which they brought out which have green tea in them.
