Sing by Vivi Greene | Book Review

Hi everyone! It's currently 3:58 in the afternoon and I am sat here about to write this post and eat bowl of cereal! Sometimes when I'm feeling hungry but I have no idea what I want, I usually just go straight to the cereal! Anyone else do this?! Anyway for todays new post, I am really excited to share with Sing by Vivi Greene. I actually did a small review for this book over on Twitter last year, but I suddenly realised that I had not done one on my blog. So I thought to myself, why not do one today! For anyone who hasn't heard of or read Sing yet, I highly recommend checking it out.

America’s most famous pop star flees the spotlight to recover from her latest break-up in Maine—only to fall for a local boy and be faced with an impossible choice at the end of the summer: her new guy, or her music.

Multiplatinum pop icon Lily Ross’s biggest hits and biggest heartbreaks (because they are one and the same):

1. AGONY. (That feeling when her ex ripped her heart out of her chest and she never saw it coming.)
2. GHOSTS. (Because even famous people are ghosted by guys sometimes. And it sucks just as much.)
3. ONCE BITTEN. (As in: twice shy. Also, she’s never dating an actor or a musician ever again.)

But this summer’s going to be different. After getting her heart shattered, Lily is taking herself out of the spotlight and heading to a small island in middle-of-nowhere Maine with her closest friends. She has three months until her fall tour starts-three months to focus on herself, her music, her new album. Anything but guys.

That is . . . until Lily meets sweet, down-to-earth local Noel Bradley, who is so different from anyone she’s ever dated. Suddenly, Lily’s “summer of me” takes an unexpected turn, and she finds herself falling deeper and harder than ever before. But Noel isn’t interested in the limelight. She loves Noel-but she loves her fans, too. And come August, she may be forced to choose."

This book first starts off with Lily and her then boyfriend Jed, sitting together in a restaurant ready to order food, but Lily automatically know that something is wrong, especially when he orders the soup. Usually Jed can eat an entire stack of pancakes that Lily makes, so she knows that something must definitely be wrong if he is ordering soup. As soon as Lily's friends realise what has happened in chapter 2, they try to help her as much as they can and suggest that they get out of here and go somewhere else for the summer.

Sing is brilliantly written, I felt like I was there with the characters and I just wanted to tell Lily that everything will be alright. Also at the start of each chapter, there is a countdown until the Lily Ross Forever World Tour. I really like how the author has done this, as we then get to follow Lily throughout each day. This book is full of wonderful characters and true friendship.
Sing is a great read and is great for if your looking for something to read on a lazy afternoon. I was hooked from the first page and I just wanted to keep following Lily throughout the countdown to her tour and to find out what happens next. Even though Lily is a very famous pop star, she is very down to earth. Definitely a great summer read.
